DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team will welcome Saint Joseph's for a three-game series, starting on April 10.
Saturday and Sunday's games will be live on ESPN+. All three games will be broadcast live on the Gem City Sports Network.
LAST TIME OUT
The FlyBoys defeated Toledo on April 8, winning 9-5 to win both games against the Rockets this season.
Jason Bello, Bobby Stang and Dyrenson Wouters hit home runs, accounting for six runs. Michael Smith Jr. also had a triple. Niklas Pavia and James Heller struck out two batters.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
Saint Joseph's is 20-11 this season and leads the Atlantic 10 with an 11-1 conference record. The Hawks have won five straight games, defeating Lehigh and Rider in non-conference games and sweeping Saint Louis last weekend.
Blake Primrose, this week's A-10 Player of the Week and part of the Buster Posey Award Watch List, leads SJU with a .748 slugging percentage, 37 runs scored and 10 home runs. Saturday's projected starter, Cole Fehrman, was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week on March 30 and leads the Hawks' pitching staff with a .230 opposing batting average and 50 strikeouts in 38.2 innings pitched.
LAST MEETING
Dayton is 18-15 against Saint Joseph's. In last season's road series, the FlyBoys won the opening game 29-1, dropping the following two games by one run.
In UD's 29-1 win, the Flyers hit five home runs. Alejandro Sardinas went 3-for-6 with three RBIs, four runs scored and a double. Dayton's pitchers combined for 11 punchouts.
DAYTON AT DAY AIR
UD and the Dayton Dragons announced on Tuesday that the FlyBoys will host Wright State at Day Air Ballpark on April 15. Tickets can be purchased here, and students can claim free tickets here.
This will be Dayton's sixth consecutive game at Day Air. 2023's game against the Raiders set an attendance record for the FlyBoys of 6,743 attendees.
UP NEXT
The Flyers will take on Bowling Green on the road on April 14 before hosting Wright State in the team's game at Day Air Ballpark on April 15.
