#FlyBoys Wrap Up Regular Season At George Washington

Games Will Take Place On May 14-16

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team

The FlyBoys will end the regular season on the road, taking on George Washington on May 14-16 at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Va.

All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE FLYBOYS
Last week, Danny MacDougall and Michael Smith Jr. were named on D1Baseball's position lists for week 12. MacDougall was ranked No. 25 in Top 50 Second Basemen. Smith Jr. placed No. 67 on their Top 100 Outfielders list.

Jason Bello, Danny MacDougall and Michael Smith Jr. have already broken into the top 10 in single-season records. Bello's 17 home runs tie him for third in single-season record, tying Marcos Pujols in 2023. MacDougall's 23 doubles tie him for the single-season record. The graduate student also has 32 stolen bases this season, currently placing him fifth in stolen bases in a single season. Smith Jr.'s 33 stolen bags earn him fourth place.

As a team, the Flyers are second in program history in hit by pitch in a single season, with 116. The record is 2019's 117 hit batters. The FlyBoys are also third in runs scored with 435, third in RBIs with 398 and second in stolen bases with 122. The team is currently setting the record for single-season home runs, breaking the previous record of 78 against George Mason.

Danny MacDougall opened the game with a home run, tallying two more runs in the game. Jason Bello and Michael Smith Jr. also hit sacrifice flies. James Heller and Niklas Pavia each struck out three Fighting Irish batters.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Revolutionaries are 18-32 this season and sit in tenth in the A-10 with a 9-18 conference record. Last weekend, George Washington was swept by Richmond in a road series.

Robbie Lavey leads GW with a .343 batting average, 34 RBIs and eight home runs. Jack Kent leads the Revolutionaries with nine stolen bases. Max Haug and Declan Wywoda, Thursday and Friday's starters, are second and third on the team in ERA with a 5.59 and 5.85, respectively. Haug leads the team in strikeouts with 58.
