ROLFE NAMED TO NSCAA MEN'S SOCCER ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Dec. 13, 2004

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's soccer senior forward Chris Rolfe was selected to the 2004 NSCAA/adidas Men's NCAA Division I All-America Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Despite playing in only 13 games, Rolfe racked up 24 points, the third-highest total in the league. He scored seven goals and set a UD single-season assists record with 10, to lead the Atlantic 10 Conference. He does not qualify for the NCAA's statistical averages categories due to his number of games played, but his 0.83 assists per game would be second in the nation, and his 2.00 points per game would rank 10th. His 10 assists tied him for 12th in the NCAA in total assists, despite playing in less games than those above him.

Rolfe will take the next step in his career with the 2005 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine in Carson, California. He was one of just 66 players invited to the January 8-11 preceding the MLS SuperDraft January 14.

He finishes his career sixth all-time at UD in goals with 31, third in total points with 87 and the Flyers career leader in assists with 25. His career average of 0.40 assists per game is second all-time at UD, and his 1.40 points per game average is third all-time.

Rolfe was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team after being an offensive force in Dayton's 8-3-0 run to second place in the conference. And was named to the NSCAA Great Lakes Region First Team.
