Dayton will host a weekend of celebrations at Time Warner Cable Stadium as the Flyers take on Duquesne in an Atlantic 10 baseball series.
Before a pivitol series with the Dukes begins on Saturday, UD will hold dedication ceremonies for the recently completed Time Warner Cable Stadium at 11:30 a.m. The games will then be broadcast live on TWTV and will mark the first ever live broadcasts of UD home baseball games.
Then on Sunday, the eight members of the Flyer senior class will be honored as part of Senior Day ceremonies at 11:45 a.m. before the series finale with the Dukes.
Junior
Luke Trubee looks to make the weekend a memorable one for Dayton as he enters with a chance to make his mark in the UD record books. With a win Saturday, He would break the UD single-season record and would match the career record for victories. This year, Trubee has the second most wins of anyone in the nation while holding a 9-1 record and a 2.64 ERA with 68 strikeouts.
Trubee will follow classmate
Craig Stammen in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Stammen enters the series opener with a 5-6 record and a 3.04 ERA. He has struck out 52 batters this season while holding his opponents to a .252 average against him.
Senior
Kaleb Thompson closes out the weekend on the mound for the Flyers. The Senior Day starter has a 4-3 record with a 4.14 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 50.0 innings pitched this season.
Junior
Galen Schumm has handled a hot bat of late with a 10-game hitting streak. He was 3-for-5 with a home run, triple, three runs scored and three RBI in a win over Wright State Tuesday. Overall, Schumm is third on the team with a .347 batting average with five doubles, a triple and three home runs. He has also scored 29 times and driven in 29 runs.
Both of Saturday's games will be televised live on TWTV on Channel 25 locally in the Dayton area. The first game will also be rebroadcast Saturday evening at 8 p.m. while the second game will be replayed Thursday at 7 p.m.
