DAYTON, OH - The University of Dayton cross country program rolls into South Bend, IN on September 16 for the National Catholic Invitational.
This event brings major Catholic universities such as UD, Notre Dame, and Xavier together to run an 8K course.
On the women's side, freshman Amy Kempf (Ft. Wayne, IN), who was named Atlantic 10 rookie of the week September 6, comes off a third place finish at the Flyer 5K and is looking to help the Flyers win the Invitational. Also placing well at the Flyer 5K were junior Dianne Striebel (Centerville, OH) and freshman Jacqueline Jaworek (Cincinnati, OH), who both placed in the top ten Division I runners.
Leading the men's team into action will be freshman Mike Andersen (Milford, MI), who was the first man across the finish line for UD during the Flyer 5K Challenge. Also looking to build on their starts are senior David Berning (Sidney, OH) and junior Eric Contreras (Centerville, OH), who were both in the top 20 Division I finishers at the Flyer 5K Challenge.
After the National Catholic Invitational, the Flyers head to the Greater Louisville Classic on September 24 in Louisville, KY.
