Box Score

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Visiting Dayton pushed Indiana to five-games before losing for the second time in as many matches Saturday as UD lost 2-3 (32-30, 27-30, 25-30, 30-25, 15-12) in the finale of the TIS Bookstore Invitational.

With the loss, Dayton fell to 5-8 on the year heading into its conference opener next Friday against Atlantic 10 newcomer Charlotte at home beginning at 7 p.m. The Flyers will also welcome George Washington to the Frericks Center next Saturday at 5 p.m.

UD was paced by a career-high 20 kills from sophomore Jamie-Lee Richards who hit .325 on the evening to lead a group of four Flyers that reached double digits in kills.

Junior All-America candidate Faye Barhorst finished with 18 kills and eight blocks. For her efforts, Barhorst was named to the All-Invitational team, her fourth such honor in as many weeks to begin the season.

Barhorst was followed by 11 kills each by sophomore Robynne Green and freshman Kortney Norris. Green added three service aces, four digs and two blocks.

Senior setter Nicole Schott dished out a career-high tying 58 assists for her fourth 50-assist performance in her last six matches. Dayton hit just .192 on the night, but held Indiana to the same hitting percentage to stay in the match with some solid defense which included four blocks and 11 digs by Schott.

The Flyer backline had four players tally at least 10 digs. Freshman Mandy Robbe led the way with a season-high 18 digs. She was followed by 17 from Adrienne Green and 11 by Angela Rueve.
