DAYTON HOSTS TRIO OF SOCCER EXHIBITIONS THIS WEEKEND

DAYTON, OHIO - Baujan Field will play host to three soccer exhibition matches this weekend. The Flyer women kick things off tomorrow night with a match against Bowling Green University at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, August 20, The UD men and women will have their final preseason tune-up games as they will host back to back games at Baujan Field. The women start the double header with an exhibition game versus Northwestern University at 12 p.m. and the men follow shortly after as they take on Bowling Green University at 2 p.m.

The Flyer women are coming off a 2005 record of 10-7-3 overall and 6-5-1 in A-10 play, ending the season in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship. Head Coach Mike Tucker enters his 12th year at the helm of the women's soccer program boasting a very young and talented squad, returning 18 letter-winners and five starters from last year's club, while bringing in 10 newcomers.

The UD men enter just their second season under head coach Dennis Currier, welcoming 17 new players and returning just 12 from a year ago. Last year the men finished with a record 11-6-3 overall and 5-2-2 in A-10 play, losing in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship in a penalty shootout.
