Senior sprinter Liz Forster was named to the Atlantic 10 Track and Field Academic All-Conference team on Tuesday. Forster was recognized for her achievements on the track and in the classroom with an award that is voted on by the sports information departments from every Atlantic 10 institution.
Forster, a native of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, held a 3.7 GPA as a pre-law major and was on both the Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. This year, she helped break two school records in relay action and also recorded a new record in the 500 meter. In April, she earned the team's White Allen MVP for Running Events award.
Forster helped Dayton's 4x800 meter relay record a new school record at the A-10 Outdoor Championships on May 6. She was also a member of the 4x100 relay team to break the school record (47.64) at the All-Ohio Championships for the fourth fastest time in the conference in 2007.
She earned a gold medal in the 500 meter run with her time of 1:19.92 at the Ball State Open and set a personal record in the same event at the New Balance Games breaking the existing school record. Forster currently holds UD's second fastest 500 meter dash time at 1:15.35 for the second fastest time in the conference this season.
In the 400 meter, Forster recorded a career best during the indoor season for a 59.23 time (15th on the A-10 performance list) and posted a time of 57.56 in the outdoor 400 meter for the 11th best time in the conference in `07.
Forster graduated this spring and intends to pursue a career in law.
