Junior Mike Andersen led the way for the UD men breaking the existing Flyer 5K record (15:17) in 15:15 and finishing second overall at the meet. In the college division, Northern Kentucky University took the men's title, while Ohio Wesleyan won the meet on the women's side.

Andersen led UD men's team, but close behind was second-man junior Matthew Peters who placed sixth in 15:29. The Lemon brothers followed as Chris Lemon placed seventh in 15:35 and Matt Lemon placed eighth with a time of 15:37 in the twin's first collegiate race. Rounding out the scoring for UD was Billy Przybyla who crossed the finish line at 16:05 for 27th place.

Tim Kaelin and Tommy Middleton out-ran more than 90 other runners posting times of 16:19 and 16:20 for the sixth and seventh spots, respectively.

On the women's side, the freshmen had a strong day as Bulgrin finished first for the Flyers in 19:20, Brigitte Sherman scored in second place (19:28) and Liz Coorey finished third for UD in 19:44.
