Coming back from break everyone seemed to still be in pretty good shape. We had a meet on January 10th at Indiana University and our team excelled in many of the events. The meet was meant to be as a glorious practice and everyone did really well. We then still remained in practice mode, and had some hard interval workouts following a bleacher workout and everyone survived. That whole week was meant to be hard, lifting was tough but we got through it.

We then headed to Kent State on a Friday night. On Saturday morning our meet started at 10 a.m. and Coach (Adam Steinwachs) as well as the athletes all knew we had to work extra hard through sore muscles and recovering from the week before. It turned out that our team once again made extreme improvement. We had three first place finishes and although the day seemed extremely long and the meet ended at 6:00, the girls still were excited about how we performed. On the way home we stopped at Andrea Cornell's house and her parents made us all supper and desserts which was amazing and it brought our team together just a little bit more as well as the 3.5 hour drive.

Dayton Track and Field has improved tremendously since I was a freshman. I am so excited to see how we end up in the Atlantic 10 Championship in February. We will definitely "Close the Gap" between us and Charlotte and as of now we are ready for it.
