REDSHIRT FRESHMAN KRABACHER CAPTURES CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton outside hitter Rachel Krabacher has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week.

The redshirt freshman Rachel from Cincinnati averaged 3.14 kills per set and 3.43 digs per set for the Red and Blue in her last two matches. Against George Washington she led the Flyers with 13 kills and posted a double-double adding 12 digs. Against Wright State she added a pair of service aces to her nine kills on the night. She posted five block assists for the week.

It is the third time since coming back from a broken foot that Krabacher has received Rookie of the Week Honor. Krabacher was sidelined from play from Sept. 4 until she made her return against Duquesne on Oct. 16. She immediately made an impact that weekend, leading Dayton to a five-set win over then-No. 20 Saint Louis at the Frericks Center.

The Flyers finished up Atlantic 10 play over the weekend and are riding a perfect 11-0 record heading into Atlantic 10 Tournament in which they host at the Frericks Center. Dayton earned a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season championship with rival Saint Louis. UD has a bye in the opening round and will face the lowest remaining seed in a 5:00 semifinal match on Saturday, Nov. 21.
