DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton second baseman Zach Jacob was named to the 2009 Atlantic 10 Baseball Championships All-Championship Team. It was announced by the Atlantic 10 on Saturday.
Jacob, a junior transfer, from Port Orchard, Wash. turned in a pair of 3-for-4 performances on Friday at Fifth Third Field. He also swatted a double in each game of the A-10 tournament. Jacob added one walk and one stolen base to his stat lines for the championship.
The Flyers finished their best season in school history winning 38 games, notching records in doubles, hits, home runs and RBI. Head coach Tony Vittorio was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year and freshman left-handed pitcher Cameron Hobson was tabbed Rookie of the Year for the Red and Blue.
