DAYTON, Ohio – Sophomore midfielder Colleen Williams has been selected as an honorable mention on TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Team of the Season.
Williams is the only student-athlete from the Atlantic 10 to appear on the list, which has three teams and an honorable mention category. The list includes players from teams such as No.1 Stanford and No. 3 North Carolina.
Williams was ranked fifth in the nation in points per game (2.09) trailing TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Player of the Season Christine Press who checks in at 2.41 points per game. In addition, she ranks second in total points behind Press and fourth in total goals with 18.
The Flyers advanced to the second round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championships for the second consecutive season. UD avenged last year’s season-ending loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies with a 3-0 win in the first round. Dayton fell in penalty kicks to Ohio State in the second round.
UD returns the Atlantic 10’s Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year (Williams and Kathleen Beljan) next season. The Flyers finished the season with a 19-3-1 record and were 8-1 in A-10 action.
