Complete Results

Competing at the 25th annual Miami invitational on Saturday afternoon, the University of Dayton men's cross country team continued to perform at a high level as they continued their spring running slate. The squad produced one individual champ, two personal best times and a 10th place team finish despite fielding runners in just three events.

The Flyers faced athletes from 15 different collegiate track teams and did most of their scoring in the 5,000-meter run, where junior standout Chris Lemon won the event to score UD ten points. Chris, the defending A-10 cross country champion, paced the pack of 54 total runners with a time of 14:26.54. His twin brother, Matt, was close behind in fourth-place, clocking in at 14:49.46 to earn the Flyers another five points. Wrapping up the scoring in the 5K was Greg Roeth, who placed seventh (14:53.98) and added another two to the team tally. Also throwing in a personal record time in the event was rookie runner Jeremy Schiele. The freshman placed 17th and turned in a career best 5K result of 15:22.87.

Another freshman, Kyle Lowry, placed 14th in a group of 42 runners in the 1,500-meter event for the Flyers to set a personal record time of 4:05.32.

Dayton's other five points came from the 3,000-meter steeplechase competition, where Nate Addessi continued his strong spring with a fourth-place finish in 9:51.34.

The Flyers will now have the week off before heading to Athens, Oh. for the All-Ohio Championships next Saturday at Ohio University. Stay tuned to DaytonFlyers.com for complete results and a recap of all the action following the conclusion of the event.
