HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Freshman Sean Keating earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team helping the University of Dayton Flyers finish in fourth at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship.
Keating just missed the A-10 Rookie of the Year award, but completed the tournament in fourth as well among individuals. He shot a 75 in the third round and finished with a 218 overall score.
Dayton in round three was led by sophomore Michael Oberschmidt’s 74. Oberschmidt finished in a tie for 11th overall among individuals after finishing the championship with scores of 74, 76 and 74.
As a team, Dayton shot a 306 in the third round. The Flyers completed the tournament with a 909 total.
Junior Chris Woeste carded a 76 in round three and ended up tied for 17th among individuals. It is the second Top 20 finish of his career in the A-10 Championship.
Freshman Matt Buse fired an 81 in the third round and ended up tied for 37th among individuals. Junior Jeff Hodapp finished with an 85 in round three.
Charlotte won its fifth consecutive A-10 title. Richmond (+29) placed second, while Xavier (+40) came in third, Dayton (+57) finished fourth, followed by George Washington (+65), St. Bonaventure (+75), Rhode Island (+77), Fordham (+89), Saint Joseph ’s (+95), Temple (+100), Duquesne (+129) and La Salle (+168).
This concludes the 2009-10 campaign for UD. The Flyers lose no players to graduation and should return every member from this year’s squad.
