DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton Women’s Golf coach
Sally Kosters has announced the 2010 fall schedule featuring the Flyers competing in five tournaments.
The Flyers will open the season at the Youngstown State Invitational from Sept. 6-7. The tournament will take place at the Links at Firestone Course in Columbiana, Ohio. During the 2008 campaign UD placed in second overall.
Dayton moves on to the Chicago State Invitational on Sept. 20-21. This event will be held at the Lost Marsh Golf Course in Hammond, Ind. During the 2008 fall season the Flyers finished in second at the Chicago State Invite.
The third September event for Dayton will be at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. The Flyers will play from Sept. 27-28 at the Players Club in Yorktown, Ind. Last season the Flyers placed in ninth at the Cardinal Classic.
Dayton’s first event in October will be the 2010 UD Fall Invitational. From Oct. 18-19, the Flyers will host the event at the NCR North Course in Kettering, Ohio. Last year UD placed in fourth at the tournament.
The final fall tournament for the Flyers will be at the University of Richmond Spider Invitational. Held Nov. 1-2, the Flyers will play at the Independence Golf Club in Richmond, Va. This will be the first time the Flyers will compete in the month of November and head to the Richmond Invitational.
In the spring season, the Colonial Athletic Association announced the 2011 conference championship will be held April 22-24 in Pinehurst, N.C. Last season the Flyers placed in eighth at the CAA Championship.
Dayton is an associate member of the CAA competing only in women’s golf.
UD returns six members from last year’s squad. Two of the Flyers’ top four scorers from last season, junior Clara Ang and senior Julie Pouliquen, lead the UD attack heading into the 2010-11 season.
