DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women’s soccer team opens the 2010 season with an exhibition match against the Louisville Cardinals this Tuesday, Aug. 10 at Baujan Field. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.  Admission is free of charge to all Flyer women’s soccer preseason and regular season games at Baujan Field.

The team will be selling UD soccer gear, including shorts, warm-ups, practice jerseys and game jerseys.

Louisville returns nine starters from a squad that finished seventh in the Big East.

The Flyers return eight starters from a squad that went 16-1-6, and did not concede a loss during the regular season. UD went 10-0-1 in Atlantic 10 play, capturing the regular season and tournament titles. Dayton played in the second round of the NCAA Tournament after advancing on penalty kicks, 4-3, against No. 23 Marquette.

The Flyers open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 20 vs. Butler at Baujan Field. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. The women’s game will be followed by a men’s exhibition match against the Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
