FLYERS FINISH REGULAR SEASON AT BAUJAN
The Flyers (14-3-0, 5-2-0 A-10) continue a four-game homestand on Friday, Oct. 28 when they take on Saint Louis at 7:30 p.m. ET at Baujan Field. They are then set to match up with the Charlotte 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. ET in their final regular season game. Dayton will then host the 2011 Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Championship, Nov. 3-6 at Baujan Field.

 

GOING GREEN
The Flyers will wear neon green shoe laces to support research in curing pediatric cancer. The shoelaces were provided by the Go4theGoal Foundation, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to children and their families affected by cancer, with the ultimate goal of curing cancer by funding innovative research and providing financial support to patients and their families.

SENIOR NIGHT
Dayton will be celebrating senior night prior to its match against Saint Louis Friday. Six seniors will be honored Kelsey Miller, Kathleen Beljan, Emily Kenyon, Kelsey Owen, Josie Grant and Nicole Peterson

SERIES INFORMATION
VS. SAINT LOUIS: The Flyers are 4-2-1 against Saint Louis all-time. The teams last met in 2009 in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals. UD came out on top 5-1 to advance to the finals behind two goals by Colleen Williams.

VS. CHARLOTTE: Charlotte leads the Flyers 2-5-1 in the all-time series record. The last time both teams met was in the 2010 Atlantic 10 Tournament final. Dayton upset the number one seed 49ers by a score of 4-3 in double overtime contest. UD’s Alexis Garcia scored the game winning goal on her way to being named the A-10 Tournaments Most Outstanding Player.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Saint Louis: The Billikens (5-8-3) enter Friday’s matchup off a 4-0 loss to La Salle. Saint Louis is led by Abby Stock who leads the team in goals (5) and assists (3). She is also ninth in the A-10 for points per game (13).

Charlotte:  Charlotte comes to Baujan Field with a 6-8-4 record and 3-3-1 A-10 mark. The last time out resulted in a 1-0 win over Fordham for the 49ers. Senior Macky Wingo scored the game winner for the 49ers. Wingo leads the team in goals (6) and assists (4). She is also second in the A-10 for shots (71), third in shots per game ( 3.94), ninth  in points (16) and tenth  in points per game(.89).

UP NEXT
Dayton will host the A-10 tournament next weekend Thursday Nov. 3 through Sunday, Nov. 6. The top six teams in the A-10 standings will advance to the tournament. La Salle (7-0-0) is currently first with 22 points; Richmond (5-1-1) and UMass (5-1-1) are tied for second with 16 points. Dayton (5-2-0) is fourth with 15 points. St. Bonaventure (3-2-2) is fifth with 11 points, followed by Saint Louis (3-3-1), Charlotte (3-3-1) and Fordham (3-4-1) tied for sixth with 10 points. And the rest of the A-10 shakes out: George Washington (8 pts), Duquesne (6 pts), Saint Joseph’s (6 pts), Xavier (5 pts), Rhode Island (4 pts) and Temple (3 pts). The quarterfinals will be held Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The semifinals are Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and the final will be played Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. One-day tickets passes are $6 for adults, $4 for children 18 and under and $3 for Atlantic 10 students (with ID) and groups of 10 or more (in advance only). A 3-day pass is $15 for adults.

WILLY’S WISH
University of Dayton women’s soccer player Colleen ‘Willy’ Williams is continuing Willy’s Wish –Dollars for Dayton for the second consecutive season. Last year the Flyers fundraised more than $1,000 for a family in Dayton. Individuals are asked to donate just $1. The UD women’s soccer team will be collecting the $1 donations at their remaining four home games (Oct. 21, 23, 28 & 30). Willy’s Wish collection boxes will be located at both entrances of Baujan Field. Fans can also send donations to: University of Dayton, c/o Willy’s Wish - Women’s Soccer, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469-1220.

LAST TIME OUT
The Flyers topped Temple 7-1 and Dayton moved to 14-3-0 overall and 5-2-0 in conference play. Four different Flyers scored Juliana Libertin, Kelsey Smigel, Colleen Williams and Andrea Todak. Libertin recorded her first collegiate hat trick while also adding an assist to the mix. Smigel put in two goals, Williams added one and Todak added her first of the season.

THE JERSEY SCORE
Junior forward Colleen Williams, a native of Titusville, N.J., leads the Atlantic 10 in assists (10) and assists per game (0.59). She is third in points (30) and tied for third in goals (10). Last season she was tied for second in the nation in points (48).

NATIONALLY-RANKED UD
The Flyers (14-3-0) are tied for the No.2 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, falling from the No. 1 spot they held for seven of 10 times this season. UD reached as high as No. 15 in the NSCAA National Rankings. Dayton is currently receiving 32 votes and comes in at No. 29. UD is ranked No.31 in the TopDrawerSoccer Tournament 64 Rankings, dropping 8 spots from No.23 last week. The Flyers are No. 31 in the latest NCAA RPI (Oct. 26).
