LANGHORST, HARRIS, BAILIN NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-PFL

Complete PFL Release
Three University of Dayton football players have been named First Team All-Pioneer Football League.  Redshirt senior defensive end Devon Langhorst, senior running back Taylor Harris and senior linebacker Bryan Bailin were all selected in a vote of the league’s coaches.

Langhorst, a co-captain from Sidney, Ohio, was among the PFL’s leaders in sacks (2nd, 1.23 per game), tackles for loss (3rd, 1.64) and tackles (5th, 7.09).  He was also 7th in the Football Championship Subdivision in sacks.  Langhorst had 31 solo hits (2nd on the team), eight QB hurries (double anyone else on the team), a fumble recovered and a fumble forced.

Harris had the best season for a Flyer running back in eight years.  Despite missing the last game-and-a-half with a hamstring injury, Harris gained 899 yards on 132 carries and scored nine touchdowns.  The Highland High School graduate (Centerburg, Ohio) was the second-leading rusher in the PFL, and his 6.8 yards-per-carry led the league.

Bailin started all 11 games at linebacker for UD.  Hailing from Naperville, Ill. (Naperville North High School), Bailin was third on the team in tackles (55).  He intercepted one pass, broke up three others and blocked a kick.

Senior offensive tackle Dan Prindle (Fairborn, Ohio) was named Second Team All-PFL.  Senior wide receiver Luke Bellman (Ottawa, Ohio), redshirt freshman wide receiver Branden Johnson (Lexington, Ky.), redshirt senior offensive guard Justin Griffis (Sidney, Ohio), redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Brannon Dunn (Brookville, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore linebacker Colin Monnier (Chicago, Ill.) were all named Honorable Mention All-PFL.

Dayton finished 6-5 overall, the Flyers’ 34th winning season in the last 35 years.
