After losing its first conference match in 37 contests on Friday to Xavier, the Flyers came out with purpose and a dominate defense which held Fordham to a -.074 hitting percentage and out-blocked the Rams 11.0-to-3.0. It is the fourth time this season that UD has held its opponent to a negative hitting percentage.
Junior outside hitter Rachel Krabacher had a match-high 10 kills with five blocks – the most blocks she has had during conference play this season.
Sophomore middle blocker Megan Campbell recorded a match-high seven block assists, adding seven kills in the process. Her .462 hitting percentage on Sunday was the 14th time this season with a hitting clip over.400.
Fordham scored the first points in the first and third sets, but those 1-0 leads would be the only two advantages of the day for the Rams, who fall to 7-21 and 4-9 in league play. Fordham’s Brittany Baulton led the Rams with eight kills.
The Flyers will conclude A-10 play next weekend on the road -- facing La Salle in Philly on Friday and Saint Louis on Sunday. With one win, Head Coach Kelly Sheffield will become the fastest coach in UD history to reach 100 wins at Dayton. Sheffield now holds a 99-27 record at Dayton.
