CINCINNATI - After competing in the Akron Indoor Invitational in February, the Flyers opened up the outdoor season this Saturday at Cincinnati' s Early Bird Relays.

All nine competing Flyers  made it a  remarkable meet,  by each of them setting a personal best time.

Jeremy Schiele and Matt Lemon were the meet' s winning 3000m SteepleChase (2-man) team.  Schiele set a new team record, placing secpnd overall in 9:25.88, followed by Matt Lemon (third overall) in 9:35.46.  Freshman Tyler Roeth finished in 10:05.44.

Kyle Lowry (14:56.39/third overall) and Stephen Mackell's (15:11.02/10th overall) combined times placed the Flyers in third in the 5000m relay.  Also running personal best times were Derek Bornhorst (15:55) and freshmen Eric Gruenbacher (15:20)  & Nick Fry (16:00). 

Freshman Doug Norris was the only Flyer to " double", setting two personal best times; placing sixth in the 1500m (3:59.64) and 11th at 5000m (15:11.89).

Dayton will next compete at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on April 1 and 2 at the University of Cincinnati.
