2011 NSCAA Women’s College Scholar All-America Team
KANSAS CITY – University of Dayton women’s soccer players
Kathleen Beljan and
Colleen Williams were named to the 2011 NSCAA Women’s College Scholar All-America Team.
Williams, a junior forward from Titusville, N.J., earned first team honors, while Beljan, a senior defender from Columbus, Ohio, was a second team honoree.
Last season Beljan became Dayton’s first-ever NSCAA Women’s Scholar All-American First Team selection. She was also named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Soccer Second Team, becoming the first Flyer women’s soccer player named to both in the same season.
Williams is also a two-time NSCAA /Continental Tire NCAA Women's Division I All-America Team selection (second team this season and third team as a sophomore).
Both Beljan and Williams were recently named to the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team. Beljan picked up first team honors for the third consecutive season, and was also second team as a freshman. Williams earned first team honors last season and third team honors as a freshman in 2009. Both were also OCSA All-Ohio Women’s Soccer Team selections.
Both Beljan (2010) and Williams (2011) have been named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List.
UD was one of eight women’s soccer programs to have two representatives on the NSCAA Scholar All-America Team (Auburn, Boston University, Central Florida, Dayton, Florida, Marquette, Milwaukee, and Oklahoma State).
