MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RANKED NO. 15 IN GREAT LAKES REGION

Region Rankings

The University of Dayton men’s cross country team is ranked No. 15 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes Region.

This is the first time the Flyers have appeared in the regional rankings this season.

UD is coming off a fourth place finish out of 24 teams in the 8K Black Race of the 2012 NCAA Pre-Nationals Saturday, Oct. 13.

“The team really ran well together. They gelled today and it all just came together,” said UD Head Coach Rich Davis. “The nice thing about this race is that we finished ahead of seven teams in our region. Only two teams in our region were ahead of us; nationally-ranked Indiana and Akron.”

The Flyers had five runners turn in season-best times at the NCAA Pre-Nationals.

Dayton will compete for a conference title Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Atlantic 10 Championship Race in Philadelphia.
