Atlantic 10 Release

DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton senior midfielder Daniel Berko was picked as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday.

Berko had a second-half hat trick, coming off of the bench Sunday in a 4-3 win for UD over Kentucky.

Berko’s first, second and third collegiate goals were memorable as they helped the Flyers begin the season 2-0 for the first time since 2008 when they captured the Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship.

Earlier on Monday, Berko was selected to the College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week for the week of Aug. 26.

Dayton (2-0) travels to Charleston, S.C. for the Nike / Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic. They face Furman on Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. and tournament host College of Charleston at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2.
