FLYERS ENTER WEEK AT NO. 18/15 IN NATIONAL POLLS

DAYTON, Ohio --- The University of Dayton women's basketball team remains ranked in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll for the 12th consecutive week.
The Flyers (19-1, 7-0 A-10) spent last week in Virginia, winning at VCU and Richmond. UD's two wins, by 11 and eight points respectively, were well below their conference leading +29 scoring margin of victory in Atlantic 10 games.
Dayton dropped one spot to No. 18 in the AP Top 25 Poll, despite accumulating 40 more points than the previous week.
UD remains at the No. 15 spot in the USA Today Coaches with 345 points.
Dayton is the highest ranked non-BCS school in both polls. Delaware, from the Colonial Athletic Association, is the only other such school to crack the rankings.
The Flyers have enjoyed a school best 7-0 start to A-10 action this season and are currently atop the standings. They lead the conference in scoring offense (78.0), scoring defense (49.0), field goal percentage (.472), assists (129) and 3-point field goals made (42).
UD will GO GREEN in its next tilt against rival Xavier (7-14, 1-6 A-10) on Thursday at 7 p.m. Dayton will be wearing green warm ups for Bile Duct Cancer Awareness in honor of the late Carolyn Wheeker, an avid Flyer fan who supported the team at games even while undergoing chemotherapy. Green is the color for bile duct, liver and gallbladder cancers.
