The Yellow Jackets closed the gap in the fifth with a single run, narrowing the Flyer advantage to just one run.

BW mounted its comeback in the sixth inning with three runs, two unearned, to take a 7-6 lead.

The Yellow Jackets added another run in the seventh to make it 8-6 in their favor.

The Flyers had a few opportunities to make a rally of their own down the stretch, but were unable to capitalize. BW took an 8-6 victory from Dayton.

Junior Corey Johnson (0-1) got the start for the Flyers and gave up just two earned runs on four hits in two innings of work. Brock Trimbur, Tommy Konrad, and Denton Sagerman were effective out of the bullpen and did not allow an earned run between them.
