WOMEN'S SOCCER 2013 CLASS RANKED

Dayton Women's Soccer 2013 Signing Class

The University of Dayton women’s soccer 2013 recruiting class is one of the best in the nation according to TopDrawerSoccer.com.

With almost every major program’s recruiting classes finalized and announced, leaning mostly on the 2013 Girls IMG Academy 150, the website ranked the top recruiting classes in women’s college soccer.

The Flyers come in at No. 46 on the list, putting them in the top 14 percent nationally. The top five classes are North Carolina, Stanford, Notre Dame, UCLA and Portland. Dayton is one of two schools from the Atlantic 10 to be ranked in the Top 50.

“The rankings are nice and it’s good to be mentioned in such great company,” said UD Head Coach Mike Tucker. “I like that people recognize we have a good class coming in. On the other hand, there have been times in the past when we weren’t mentioned and we really thought we should be. We pride ourselves on bringing in good recruits. It all comes down to what they can accomplish at this next level.”

The Flyers have won the A-10 title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times in the last four years.  They are eight-time Atlantic 10 Tournament champions and 10-time A-10 regular season champions. UD finished the 2012 regular season 14-4-2 and 7-1-1 in the Atlantic 10. They lost four players from that squad and return a solid core, plus this stellar recruiting class, for 2013.

The Flyers start the 2013 fall season with two exhibition matches: at Michigan on Friday, Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. and home on Baujan Field vs. Miami (FL) on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. in a rematch from last season.
