FLYER MEN PREPARE FOR FRIENDSHIP INVITE

Dayton Is Coming Off Runner-Up Finish At Queen City Invitational

Course Information

University of Dayton men's cross country hopes to stay competitive as they prepare to compete in the 23rd annual Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University this Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Ervin R. King Cross Country Course. Race time for the men's college 8K is 9:30 a.m.

UD Head Coach Rich Davis has high hopes for the Flyers, as they prepare for the team's first 8K of the season.

Davis has much confidence in senior Tyler Roeth, who finished third place at his last meet.

"Tyler has much experience in 8Ks and has been training hard all summer and should be ready to tackle this course," said Davis. Ā "The team has been practicing at the Cedarville course and has had good workouts in preparation for the meet this weekend."

With this being the first 8K of several of the Flyers' collegiate careers, Davis still is very confident in his freshmen.

Freshman Ethan Louis, who earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors after his performance at the UD's last meet in Mason, Ohio, is looking to continue his development.

Davis also expects a lot out of his other freshmen. He believes that Michael Tymoski will be another top runner for the Flyers this weekend. Davis has faith that four to five freshmen are pushing for the fifth man spot in Cedarville this weekend.

"With the combination of the practice they have done at the Cedarville course and coming off of a solid summer of training, I expect them to stay strong," said Davis.Ā
