DAYTON MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY GEAR UP FOR QUEEN CITY INVITE

Flyers Are Competing in Second Consecutive 5K

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's cross country team will compete in it second 5K race of the season, the Queen City Invitational, this Friday, Sept. 6 at Kingswood Park.

The men's 5,000-meter race starts at 5 p.m., followed by the women's 5,000-meter race at 5:45 p.m. This will be the 32nd edition of the annual Queen City Invitational, a cross country race that UC, Northern Kentucky University and Xavier University take turns hosting, with the Musketeers being the primary host this year.

The UD men are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Flyer 5K last weekend, paced by senior Tyler Roeth's 11th place finish in 16:03. The next top six finishers for the Flyers were freshman Michael Tymoski (16:17), freshman Ethan Louis (16:21), junior Michael Russell (16:22), sophomore Matthew Krakora (16:24), freshman Kyle Lach (16:33) and freshman Hunter Johnson (16:36).

"With two freshmen among our top five and four freshmen among our top seven at the Flyer 5K, the team ran a remarkable first-thru-fifth-man time spread of 20-seconds and a first-thru-seventh-man time spread of 33 seconds," said UD Head Men's Cross Country Coach Rich Davis. "We are prepared to use our pack running strength to be competitive against the Division I teams from Xavier, Northern Kentucky, and Cincinnati at the Queen City Invitational. This meet will also be contested at 5 kilometers, and each of our runners will be focused upon racing faster individual times than were established in season-opening home meet."
