BRONX, N.Y. – The University of Dayton baseball team had play suspended Saturday, but the game resumed on Sunday as the Flyers suffered a tough 5-4 loss to Fordham.
On Saturday, the Flyers loaded the bases in the top of the first after having three players get hit by a pitch. Senior
Robby Sunderman, junior

Dayton took a quick 3-0 lead over the Rams as it looked to take its second straight Atlantic 10 series.
Fordham scored a single run in the second to get on the board in the series finale. The Rams doubled their score total in the third with another run, narrowing the gap to 3-2.
In the bottom of the sixth, Fordham tied the score up at 3-3 on a defensive miscue by Dayton.
Play was halted in the seventh inning by inclement weather. The umpires and coaches decided to suspend the game until 11 a.m. Sunday.
Once play resumed on Sunday,
Alex Harris didn't take long to make his mark, hitting an RBI double to left, giving Dayton the 4-3 advantage.
The Rams answered though with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 5-4 lead. Both runs came with two outs. That would prove to be the difference in the game as Fordham took the contest and the series.
Starting pitcher
