FAIRBORN, Ohio
– The University of Dayton baseball team played a pair of games on Sunday and lost both contests.

Dayton fell to Bradley in the opener, 5-0, before losing to Wright State, 13-1.

Game 1 – Bradley 5, Dayton 0
The Flyers dropped the first game of the day and their third loss to Bradley this season in a 5-0 decision.

The game started off as a defensive battle as neither team was able to put a run on the board in the first four innings. Bradley had just one hit over that span while Dayton had two hits.

The Braves broke open the scoring the top of the fifth with an RBI single. They added another run in the sixth to make it a 2-0 ball game.

In the seventh and eighth, Bradley made it four straight innings with a run and took a 5-0 lead over the Flyers.

That would be all the Braves would need to send the Flyers to their sixth-straight loss on Sunday.

Starter Charlie Dant (2-2) was saddled with the loss despite giving up just three runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Dayton managed three hits in the contest, two from junior Zach Schira and one from senior Mark Podlas. The Flyers left seven men stranded on base.

Game 2 – Wright State 13, Dayton 1
The Flyers suffered their second loss of the day in a 13-1 game against host Wright State to finish up the weekend.

Freshman Nick Gobert put the Flyers on top in the second inning by scoring on a balk by the Wright State pitcher.

The Raiders got the run back in the bottom half of the inning to even the score at 1-1. A solo home run in the third put host Wright State ahead of the Flyers, 2-1.

In the fourth, the Raiders continued their offensive assault, scoring two more runs. Nine runs and 15 batters in the fifth blew open the game and put Dayton in a 13-1 hole.

After all was said and done, the Flyers lost their seventh straight game with a 13-1 decision.

Starter Bryce Lahrman (0-1) left in the fourth inning after allowing four runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings of work. Senior Nate Harris had a shutout inning in relief for the Flyers.

Offensively, Dayton had just two hits in the game. UD's run came on a balk by the Raiders in the second inning.

The Flyers (3-10) will host Cincinnati on Tuesday for their first home game of the season. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Stadium.
