DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team celebrated its 2014 season Sunday night with its annual post-season banquet held at Top of the Market Banquet Center. Seniors

Rachel Jones were recognized and three team awards were given out: Dr. R. Elaine Dreidame Award, Kacie Hausfeld Teammate Award and the Flyer Award.
Dayton posted a 30-6 overall record for 2014 and posted 13-1 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Flyers claimed the 2014 Atlantic 10 Regular Season and Championship titles and made the program's 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, falling to eventual nation champion Penn State in the Second Round. Jane Emmenecker was named to the Midwest Region Honorable Mention roster while head coach Time Horsmon was named the AVCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year.
Team AwardsDr. R. Elaine Dreidame Award - Established in 1983. Given to the player that demonstrates great character, a positive outlook, willingness to work hard for the sake of the team in the gym, and that is successful in the classroom. Dr. Dreidame is the longest tenured head volleyball coach at Dayton from 1970-1979. Her 309 career wins is nearly twice as much as any other coach in the program's storied history.,
Janna KrafkaKacie Hausfeld Teammate Award - Established in 2010, first awarded in 2011. Given to the player who best exemplifies what a great teammate should be – someone who leads by example, whose effort is never questioned, who encourages and genuinely cares about her teammates, and who has an absolute love for the game. This player demonstrates a positive attitude towards her team and program. Kacie Hausfeld (1988-2010) was a setter at Dayton from 2007-09 before passing away in small-plane crash with her father in April of 2010.
Angel AguFlyer Award - Established in 2014. Given to the player who encompasses what it means to be a Dayton Flyer volleyball player. This player maintains a positive attitude and demonstrates a great skill set.
