NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The first Atlantic 10 tennis awards of 2015 have been announced and University of Dayton freshman
Zach Berry was named A-10 Rookie of the Week.
Berry notched a pair of singles wins, and added a doubles victory as the Flyers went 1-1 last week against Lipscomb and Eastern Kentucky. Against LU, the Springboro, Ohio, product defeated Philippe Courteau, 6-3, 6-3. The freshman then clinched a 4-3 win for the Flyers with a No. 5 three-set singles victory over Alberto Tintoré (4-6, 6-0, 6-3). He also won in doubles 6-1, with partner
Carsten Fisher.
The Flyers will play Wright State in Fairborn Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
