LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Dayton volleyball team received votes in the final 2014 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches Poll as announced on Dec. 22. The Flyers received 11 votes, effectively ranking them as the 31st-best team in the nation following the 2014 season.
Dayton was eliminated from the 2014 NCAA Tournament in the Second Round by eventual national champions Penn State. The Flyers made their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament this season after winning both the Atlantic 10 Regular Season and Championship titles. Dayton had three players recognized by the AVCA with Midwest Region awards and head coach Time Horsmon was named the AVCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year.
With its 30-6 record on the season, Dayton returns to the AVCA national poll after last being listed among the top 25 in the 2013 preseason poll.
