NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly awards for men's soccer on Monday and named University of Dayton senior Amass Amankona Co-Player of the Week.

Amankona scored a hat trick in Dayton's 5-0 win over La Salle on Saturday, helping the Flyers remain unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play. The senior continues to lead the conference in goals with nine and points with 21 on the season. He also ranks sixth in the nation in scoring and eighth in points.

It was the first hat trick of Amankona's career, who now has a career-best in goals as well. He has played a crucial role in Dayton sitting atop the Atlantic 10 standings (3-0-1) at this point in the season.

Amankona joined VCU's Pierre Gardan as Co-Players of the Week. It is the second A-10 honor of the season for the Ghana native.

The Flyers are 8-4-2 overall and will defend their four game unbeaten streak against Massachusetts on Saturday at home at 7 p.m.
