DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will host Saint Joseph's University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field. It is a make-up game from the originally scheduled contest on Oct. 10.
SCOUTING THE FLYERSDayton is 9-4-2 overall this season and 4-0-1 in the Atlantic 10. Sitting in first place in the conference standings, the Flyers are unbeaten in their last five games and 5-1 at home this year. Head coach

The Flyers are averaging 2.40 goals per game and holding opponents to 1.13 goals each contest. Dayton out-shoots its opponents 16.3-11.3 and has a corner kick advantage as well.
Senior
Amass Amankona leads the team with nine goals, 22 points, and 19 shots on goal to go with four assists. Fellow senior
Maik Schoonderwoerd has chipped in seven goals and five assists while junior
James Haupt has five goals and four assists. Goalkeeper
Justin Saliba has seven wins and four shutouts in 12 starts to go with a 1.11 goals against average and 32 saves.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
SAINT JOSEPH'SThe Hawks enter the game with a 3-10-2 record this season and a 1-3-1 A-10 mark. Saint Joe's currently sits in a tie for 11th in the conference standings. Head coach Don D'Ambra is in his sixth year at the helm of the Hawks. SJU has wins over LIU Brooklyn, Howard, and Massachusetts this year.
As a team, the Hawks are scoring 0.93 goals per game and giving up 2.00 goals to opposing squads. They are also being out-shot 16.5-11.0 and have 63 corner kicks compared to 95 by opponents.
Leading the way for Saint Joe's is senior Emmanuel Temeh, who has five goals, 11 points, and seven shots on goal in 13 starts. Senior Tim Lazorko and sophomore Matt Crawford have contributed two goals apiece with Lazorko adding three assists as well. Sophomore goalkeeper Bobby Edwards has a 1.68 goals against average, a .712 save percentage, and 52 saves in 12 starts.
The Hawks are a very young team with only two seniors on the roster and 18 underclassmen.
THE SERIESThe Flyers have dominated the series against Saint Joseph's, winning 13 of the 16 previous meetings. Last season, Dayton was victorious at Saint Joe's, 4-0, in the season finale - a win that put them in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. The lone Hawk victory came back in 1995 in Philadelphia.
LAST OUTINGDayton continued its home success with a 4-1 win over UMass at Baujan Field on Saturday. The Flyers were led by Schoonderwoerd's first half hat trick and a goal by
Anthony Keene in the second half. A 66th-minute goal by the Minutemen broke up the shutout attempt.
Saint Joe's suffered a 3-0 loss at Davidson last Wednesday, getting shutout for the eighth time this season. The defeat continued the Hawks' losing streak, pushing the winless streak to four straight games.
LEADING THE WAYThe Flyers are having a stellar season offensively, leading the Atlantic 10 in shots (16.27), points (7.00), goals (2.40), assists (2.20), and corner kicks (6.87).
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGEDayton has out-scored opponents 19-1 over its past four home games, including a 6-0 win over Bowling Green on Sept. 23. The Flyers are 5-1 in games at home as well, outscoring opponents 23-4. UD has allowed just one goal at home since Sept. 12.
OFFENSIVE POWERHOUSEThe Flyers have been a force on the offensive side of the ball this season, ranking in the top 10 nationally in numerous statistical categories. Dayton currently ranks second in total goals (36), third in scoring offense (2.40), fourth in total points (105), and fourth in points per game (7.00). The Flyers are also seventh in assists per game (2.20) and eighth in total assists (33).
SCHOONDERWOERD IS C0-PLAYER OF THE WEEKThe Flyers had their third Co-Player of the Week honor on Oct. 26 as senior
Maik Schoonderwoerd earned his first accolade of the season. After his hat trick performance against UMass, the Netherlands native was named Co-Player of the Week in the Atlantic 10.
AMANKONA NAMED SENIOR CLASS FINALISTThe 2015 Senior CLASS Award candidates were announced and Dayton's
Amass Amankona is one of 10 male finalists for the national honor. The award is given to one male and female in each sport every year that best exhibits excellence in four areas: classroom, character, community, and competition. Amankona is one of two A-10 candidates and joins Dayton women's soccer's Nicole Waters on the list. Dayton is one of only four schools with both a male and female honoree.
UP NEXTThe Flyers will head back out on the road for an Atlantic 10 showdown at Fordham Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Bronx.
Following that, the Flyers will end the regular season at home on Nov. 7 against VCU. It will be Senior Night at Baujan Field, recognizing the Flyer seniors before the game.
