NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton volleyball sophomore
Amber Erhahon was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday, Oct. 5.
Also earning mention by the league were Saint Louis' Danielle Rygelski as the A-10 Player of the Week and George Washington freshman Kelsey Clark was selected as the conference's Rookie of the Week.
Dayton's leading blocker, Erhahon averaged 1.62 blocks per set over the weekend in two A-10 wins for the Flyers. She recorded four blocks in Dayton's 3-0 win over Fordham on Friday. In Saturday's 3-2 win over Rhode Island, Erhahon tallied a career-high nine blocks to go with four digs. The middle blocker from Albany, N.Y., scored 2.31 points/set for the Flyers over the weekend. The A-10 Defensive Player of the Week award is Erhahon's third this season.
The Flyers will continue Atlantic 10 action this coming weekend with two matches on the road. Dayton will take on George Mason on Friday in Fairfax, Virginia, with a 7 p.m. start time followed by another 7 p.m. tilt Saturday at George Washington.
