TOP-SEEDED DAYTON TO PLAY GW/VCU WINNER IN A-10 SEMIS SATURDAY

Flyers Seeking 10th Atlantic 10 Championship Title

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After posting its third undefeated Atlantic 10 season in the last six years and claiming its 12th A-10 Regular Season Title, the University of Dayton volleyball team has earned the top seed for the 2015 A-10 Volleyball Championship. Dayton will play the winner of No. 4 George Washington and No. 5 VCU on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. in semifinal action. The Championship is being hosted by George Washington and all matches will be played at the Charles E. Smith Center Nov. 20-22.

Dayton (23-5, 14-0 A-10) closed out the A-10 regular season on Saturday with a 3-1 win at second-seeded Saint Louis to extend its nation's-longest active winning streak to 21 matches. The Flyers also own the nation's longest active conference winning streak at 23 matches. UD finished the 2015 conference season ranked first in the league in hitting percentage (.271), opponent hitting percentage (.167), assists/set (12.84) and kills/set (13.88).

First serve between Dayton and its semifinal opponent is set for 5 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on American Sports Network. All rounds will also be available online on the A-10 Network. The winner of the single-elimination championship will advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children and are available through the George Washington ticket office and on-site at the championship. An adult all-session pass is $16 and $10 for children 2-12 years old. Students with a valid ID from Atlantic 10 member institutions are admitted free.
