GAME PREVIEW• The University of Dayton baseball team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. this weekend for its second Atlantic 10 series of the season, this time against the La Salle Explorers.
• The Flyers are 6-16 this season and 1-2 on the road. Dayton is 0-3 in A-10 play after its opening series against Massachusetts. Sixteenth-year Head Coach
Tony Vittorio is looking to guide the Flyers back into the win column after UD has lost four year in a row.
• La Salle is 11-12 overall and 1-2 in the A-10 this year. The Explorers are 2-3 at home and coming off a 9-1 win over Delaware in their last outing on Tuesday. Head Coach Mike Lake is in his eighth year at the helm and looking to get La Salle back to the conference tournament in 2015.
WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON• Offensively, Dayton is batting .231 with 33 doubles, 30 steals, and a .335 on-base percentage, thanks to 93 walks and 30 hit by pitches.
• Leading the way for the Flyers is seniors

A.J. Ryan, and
Sergio Plasencia, each of whom have 12 RBI on the year. Harris has added a .301 average while sophomore
Robbie Doring has seven steals in as many attempts.
• Pitchers
Charlie Dant (1-4, 5.35 ERA, 31 k's),
Noah Buettgen (6.85 ERA, 19 k's), and
Bradley Horn (1-1, 25 k's) will get the nod as starters.
• As a pitching staff, Dayton has a 5.57 ERA and 166 strikeouts compared to 114 walks in 202 innings. Junior
Sam Brunner has all four saves for the Flyers while freshman
Mason Kutruff has a team-high three wins out of the bullpen.
• Defensively, Dayton has a .952 fielding percentage with 43 errors and 13 double plays in 901 chances.
WHO TO WATCH - THE OPPONENT• La Salle is batting .303 with 59 doubles, 158 RBI, and 17 steals this season.
• Justin Korenblatt has a .423 average and a .525 on-base percentage while Josh Savakinus holds the team lead in RBI with 26.
• As a staff, La Salle has a 4.82 ERA and 149 strikeouts compared to 101 walks. Seven different pitchers have made a start in the 23 games in 2015.
• The Explorers have a .959 fielding percentage and 35 errors in 832 chances.

LAST MEETINGDayton and La Salle played a three-game series in 2014 and the Flyers took two of three from the Explorers. La Salle took game one (8-5) before UD came back to win game two (5-0) and game three (9-7).
WITHIN THE CONFERENCEThe Flyers are ranked 13th in batting average and 11th in team ERA within in the A-10. Individually, Dant leads the conference in innings pitched and ranks ninth in strikeouts. Freshman
Tyson Schnitkey is second in the A-10 in appearances with 12 and Brunner is second in saves.
The Explorers are ranked first in batting average and eighth in team ERA. Individually, Korenblatt is second in the A-10 in average and Welling is seventh. Korenblatt also leads the league in hits, runs, and total bases. La Salle has the top four leaders in RBI in Savakinus, Korenblatt, Johnson, and Welling.
MARATHON GAMEDayton and Morehead State started the first game of their series on Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. By the time the game was complete, it was 7 p.m. the next day. The contest was suspended in the middle of the fifth inning and was scheduled to begin the next day at 3 p.m. On top of that, the contest went 14 innings before a winner was decided. Besides the 18-hour delay, the game took four hours and 15 minutes to play, resulting in a 5-3 win for the Flyers.
FLYERS PICKED TO FINISH SIXTH IN A-10The Atlantic 10 released their 2015 preseason poll and tabbed Dayton to finish sixth this year, after posting that same finish in 2014. The Flyers received one first place vote, and came ahead of Davidson, George Washington, and Fordham in the poll. Saint Louis was picked to win the league and had six first-place votes, while VCU was right behind in second with five first-place votes.
