GAME PREVIEW
• The University of Dayton baseball team will return to Atlantic 10 action this weekend as it hosts Saint Joseph's in a three-game series. Friday will open the weekend at 3 p.m. before a meeting Saturday at 1 p.m. and the finale Sunday at 11 a.m.
• The Flyers enter the weekend with an 11-28 record overall and a 2-13 mark in conference play. Dayton is 5-12 at home this season and winner of two straight at Woerner Field. With three conference weekends remaining, this is an important series for UD's postseason hopes.
• Saint Joseph's is 13-19 on the year and 4-7 in the A-10. The Hawks are 6-10 away from home and coming off a big win over Villanova on Tuesday. In recent A-10 action, SJU won the finale over VCU, but dropped the series 2-1.

WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON
• Offensively, Dayton is batting .237 with a .338 slugging percentage and a .326 on-base percentage. The Flyers have hit 67 doubles on the year and have stolen 41 bases in 63 attempts.
• Leading the way for UD is senior A.J. Ryan, who has 23 RBI and seven home runs, and senior Sergio Plasencia, who has a .272 average and 19 RBI.
• Pitchers Charlie Dant (1-8, 5.01 ERA, 51 k's), Noah Buettgen (2-5, 4.56 ERA, 44 k's), and Bradley Horn (1-4, 42 k's) will get the nod as starters.
• As a pitching staff, Dayton has an ERA of 5.02 and 271 strikeouts in 346 innings. Freshman Tyson Schnitkey leads the team in appearances with 18 while junior Sam Brunner has four saves in 14 games.
• Defensively, the Flyers have a .959 fielding percentage and 62 errors this season.

WHO TO WATCH - THE OPPONENT
• Saint Joseph's has a team batting average of .262 to go with 83 extra-base hits, 112 walks, and 30 stolen bases.
• Junior John Brue is the main offensive threat for the Hawks with a .320 average, nine home runs, and 34 RBI this season. Senior Stefan Kancylarz has chipped in 19 RBI and 14 extra-base hits as well.
• The pitching staff is similar to Dayton's this season in that it has posted a 5.03 ERA through 32 games, with 195 strikeouts compared to 118 walks. Senior Lansing Veeder leads the team with four saves and a 1.08 ERA.
• The Hawks defensively have a .970 fielding percentage with 36 errors and 25 double plays.

LAST MEETING
Dayton and Saint Joseph's met three times back in April of 2014 in Philadelphia. In that series, the Flyers took game one 6-1 before falling in the final two games, getting outscored 13-4.

WITHIN THE CONFERENCE
The Flyers are ranked 13th in team batting average and ninth in team ERA. Individually,  Ryan is ranked fourth in home runs while Mason Kutruff is tied for third in wins. Dant has pitched the second most innings in the league this year and ranks sixth in strikeouts.

The Hawks are ranked ninth in the A-10 in team batting average and eighth in team ERA. Individually, Veeder is seventh in ERA and tied for sixth in saves. Brue is tied for the league lead in home runs, and slugging percentage, ranks fourth in total bases, and is fifth in RBI.
