2015 VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE TO KICK OFF AUG. 28

Flyers to Host Two Tournaments at Frericks Center

DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton volleyball head coach Tim Horsmon has announced the Flyers' 2015 schedule, currently a slate that includes two home tournaments and four opponents that made an appearance in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

The 2015 roster will boast five seniors, including the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Alaina Turner. Five sophomores will also be returning from last year's A-10 Regular Season and Tournament Champions squad while eight new faces will also be seen out on the court – one transfer and seven freshmen. Dayton finished 2014 with a 30-6 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Second Round, falling to eventual national champion Penn State.

Dayton will kick off the 2015 season in Ames, Iowa, for a two-day tournament hosted by Iowa State. In addition to host ISU, UD will also square off against North Dakota and Marquette Aug. 28-29. The following weekend, the Flyers will head to Carbondale, Illinois, for Southern Illinois' tournament featuring SIU, Western Kentucky and Tennessee State.

Newly renovated Frericks Center will be the site of two tournaments this fall. Dayton will play host to Baylor, Cleveland State and Eastern Illinois Sept. 11-12 for the Dayton Invitational. UD's Flyer Invitational will take place Sept. 18-19 featuring Eastern Michigan, Illinois State and Jacksonville.

Atlantic 10 Conference play will get started on Sept. 25 with a match in Pittsburgh at Duquesne followed by a trip over to Philadelphia on Sept. 26 for a Saturday tilt at La Salle. The 14-match A-10 slate includes five home-and-home series and four single matches against nine league teams.

Dayton will have two non-conference games mixed among its conference schedule. The Flyers will travel down to Cincinnati for a match at Xavier against the Musketeers on Oct. 21. UD will host Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 27.

George Washington will host the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship Nov. 20-22 in Washington, D.C. And the Flyers will play one final regular-season match on Friday, November 27 at Ohio in Athens.
