DAYTON -- The University of Dayton, 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Pioneer Football League, stays on the road this Saturday to visit Butler. Game time is 1 p.m. ET.

UD is coming off a 36-16 win at Jacksonville last week. Cornerback
Christian Searles tied a Flyer record with three interceptions in the game.Â
The Jacksonville win was Dayton's third straight, its first road win and the first win of the year that came after the Flyers trailed.
RS senior kicker
William Will took sole possession of the PFL career field goal mark. He now has 52 and needs 10 points to become the PFL's record holder in kick scoring. Â
UD's 22–man senior class includes 15 fifth-year players. Captains Chris Beaschler,
Ian Palin and
Shane Toub are all redshirt seniors.
GOOD NEWS WORTH REPEATING
The Flyers entered the season with the 4th-best winning percentage (.757, 134-43) in FCS football since 2000 AND have produced the most football Academic All-Americans (23) at any level of competition in the same time frame. The top five are Harvard (.805), Montana (.766), North Dakota State (.761), Dayton (.757) and San Diego (.705).
STREAKING
UD has not been shut out in a school-record 450 straight games, the best such active string in all of college football. The last team to shut out the Flyers was Marshall, 9-0, on Oct. 16, 1976. That is also the all-time FCS record.
PFL POWER
• The Pioneer Football League is in its 24th season. The original (and now the only) Division I strictly need-based football league began with charter members Butler, Dayton, Drake, Evansville, San Diego and Valparaiso.Â
• In this year's preseason coaches poll, UD was predicted to finish second in the PFL in a tight race that separated Dayton and San Diego by one point. (95-94). However, UD received six first-place votes, while the USD had five.
• UD's 106-33 record is the best in PFL history.
ROOKIE RECEIVERS
• True freshman
Ryan Skibinski and redshirt freshman
Adam Trautman are 1-2 in receiving this season at UD with 25 and 19 catches.
• They are also 1-2 among freshmen in the PFL.
• Both have already surpassed the old freshman record for catches in a season at UD, which was 18 two years ago by teammate
Tyler Tumpane.
SPECIAL SPECIAL TEAMS
• Dayton has blocked six kicks in each of the last two years, the most by UD since 2002.Â
• The Flyers already have four blocks in 2016.
• In fact, UD has 16 blocks in its last 30 games.
• UD led the PFL in kickoff coverage in 2015, and leads again so far in 2016.Â
• Last year, UD had the PFL Special Teams Player of the Year (
Nick Kaczkowski), and the first team returner (
Christian Searles), kicker (
William Will) and punter (
Sean Smith).Â

Sean Smith led the PFL in punting average (41.9) and was the only freshman named First Team All-PFL.
• At Duquesne, he averaged 50.0 yards over six punts, with three inside the 20 & no touchbacks.
• He was named the PFL Special Teams Player of the Week after Duquesne.
IN THE PFL
• Dayton leads the PFL in kickoff coverage (41.7), interceptions (12), sacks (16, tied), turnover margin (+8), 4th-down conversion rate (66.7%, 6-9), opp. 4th-down rate (20.0%, 3-15), and fewest penalty yards (43.9).
• UD is second in rushing offense (202.1), rushing defense (119.7), scoring defense (20.0), red-zone offense (93.5%, 29-31) and red-zone defense (62.5%, 15-24).
