DAYTON HOSTS DUQUESNE ON SENIOR DAY

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will play its final home game of the 2016 regular season at Baujan Field this Saturday against Duquesne 7 p.m. It will be Senior Day as UD recognizes the eight members of the senior class prior to the game.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton heads into its second to last game of the regular season with a 6-8-2 overall record and a 2-3-1 record in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers currently sit in 11th place in the Atlantic 10 standings with seven points, but are only one win behind from being tied for third place.

The Flyers are averaging 1.06 goals per game and have given up 1.06 goals per game to their opponents. UD is outshooting its opponents 13.6 to 12.5 per contest.

UD is led by freshman Rok Taneski, who has four goals and five assists on the season. Sophomore Kennedy Nwabia also has four goals and has added two assists over the course of the season. Freshman goalkeeper Federico Barrios has started 10 games for Dayton this season and has a 0.57 goals against average.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
DUQUESNE

Duquesne has an overall record of 8-3-4 and a 3-1-2 record in the Atlantic 10. The Dukes are in second place in the conference with 11 points. Duquesne is coming off of a 2-2 tie against George Mason.

The Dukes are averaging 1.00 goal per game while holding their opponents to 0.80. Duquesne is outshooting its opponents with 13.5 shots while holding its opponents to 10.6 per contest. The Dukes have almost twice as many corners as its opponents with 106-56.

Leading the way for DuquesneFredrik Borenstein with three goals and three assist on the season. Three other players for the Dukes have five points on the year. In goal is Evan Kozlowski, who has started every game this year and as a goals against average of 0.80.

THE SERIES
Dayton and  Duquesne have played 18 times against each other with UD winning 11 times. The last meeting between the two teams came in the opening round of the A-10 Tournament where the Flyers won with a 3-1 final score. Dayton has won the last seven meetings with Duquesne with their last lost coming on Oct. 13, 2006 in Pittsburgh.

LAST OUTING
Dayton emerged victorious last Saturday against A-10 foe Rhode Island winning the contest 2-0. Graduate Micheal Frasca had both goals in the match.

Duquesne is coming off of a 2-2 draw against George Mason. The last two games for the Dukes have gone into overtime.

AMONGST THE BEST
UD ranks first in the A-10 in shots and second in corners for the season. Individually,Taneski leads the league in shots and total assists for the year while Barrios is second in GAA.

Duquesne leads the A-10 in corners and shutouts and is second in GAA. Individually, Evan Kozlowskis fourth in GAA and save percentage.

UP NEXT
The Flyers will finish up the regular season on Nov. 5 at VCU in Richmond, Va. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
