ST. LOUIS -- Â University of Dayton redshirt senior placekicker
William Will was named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Dayton's 51-27 win over Morehead State on Saturday.Â
Will was perfect on all nine of his kicks – three field goals and six PATs.
His first field goal gave him sole possession of Dayton's career field goal record. His second PAT set a new UD record for consecutive point after touchdowns kicked. Will's third field goal matched his career best of 49 yards and was also the 49th of his career. That tied him with Drake alum and former NFL Kicker Billy Cundiff for the PFL career record.
Will extended his PAT streak to 69 in a row. His 49 field goals tie him for third among active FCS kickers.
After six games in 2016, Will leads the PFL in kick scoring (7.3 ppg.) and is third overall. He is also second in field goals per game (1.33). He also leads the PFL in touchbacks (12).
Dayton, now 4-2, will pack a two-game winning streak for a road trip to Jacksonville on Saturday. The Flyers are 2-1 in the PFL, behind three undefeated teams (San Diego at 3-0, Marist at 2-0 and Jacksonville at 1-0). Saturday's kickoff is scheduled for 12 noon ET.Â
