COLUMBUS, Ohio –The University of Dayton announced a total of 11 basketball games will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel during the 2016-17 season.
This marks the 11th year of televised Dayton Flyers games on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in Ohio.
The men's TV schedule on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel tips off Friday, Nov. 11 with the home opener against Austin Peay. The network will also carry the men's games against Saint Joseph's College (Dec. 6), Vanderbilt (Dec. 21), VMI (Dec. 23) and George Mason (Feb. 21).
The women's basketball schedule will begin with TWC SportsChannel broadcasting the home opener against Quinnipiac on Sunday, Nov. 13. The other women's basketball telecasts are games versus La Salle (Dec. 4), Toledo (Dec. 9), Rhode Island (Jan. 28), Richmond (Feb. 8) and Saint Louis (Feb. 22).
Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will also air the weekly Dayton Flyers Insider show during the men's basketball season. The half-hour show will be led by hosts Dwight Burgess and
Josh Postorino and will give fans unique access to the men's basketball team, as well as features on Dayton Flyers athletics.
Dayton men's basketball finished the 2015-16 regular season as co-champions in the Atlantic 10, with a 14-4 conference record. UD was 25-8 overall, and reached the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive season. The Flyers return four starters -
Charles Cooke,
Kyle Davis,
Kendall Pollard and
Scoochie Smith - and nine letter winners in 2016-17.
Shauna Green is in her first season in charge of the Dayton women's program. The Flyers closed the 2015-16 season with its ninth-consecutive postseason berth, earning a spot in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The Flyers return a veteran squad with five seniors, Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year
Lauren Cannatelli, and A-10 Third Team performer
Jenna Burdette.
