DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's track and field team has added U.S. Olympic heptathlete
Chantae McMillan as a volunteer assistant coach.
McMillan joins the Flyer staff while training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is currently a heptathlete, competing in seven events for the U.S. national team.
Hailing from Tennessee, McMillan went to Rolla High School in Missouri before attending the University of Nebraska, competing in both the heptathlon and pentathlon. Upon graduation in 2006 with a degree in middle grades education, she trained for the U.S. team and qualified for the 2012 Olympics in London in June of 2012 at the U.S. Olympic trials.
While competing collegiately, McMillan was a five-time All-American, four-time Big 12 Champion, two-time school record holder, and three-time team captain. She competed at the national championships seven different times between indoor and outdoor and all four years at Nebraska.
