HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The University of Dayton women's soccer team came back from a 2-0 first-half deficit to defeat Marshall 3-2 in an exhibition match Friday night at Veterans Memorial Complex.
Â
"We started off slow and didn't look like we have been in training," said Head Coach
Mike Tucker. "We gave up goals early, but I really like the way the team reacted. We got organized, played the last 60 minutes really well, giving up just one shot and scoring some really good goals."
Â
Flyer goals were scored by freshmen
Madeleine Morrissey and
Alex Powell, and senior
Meghan Blank.
Â
All three goalkeepers,
Jenna DiTusa,
Kaelyn Johns, and
Emily Jones, saw action for Dayton.
Â
Dayton opens the regular season at Cincinnati Friday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. at Gettler Stadium.Â
