NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton baseball freshman Tate Hagan earned the Flyers' first Atlantic 10 weekly award of the 2017 season on Monday afternoon, being named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his play from Feb. 20-26.
 
Hagan was a key factor in UD's offensive explosion this weekend, hitting .455 at the plate (5-for-11) out of the cleanup spot with two home runs, a double, five runs scored, three RBI, and two walks. 

The Tallahassee, Fla. native went 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and three runs scored in the Flyers' 20-run outburst on Saturday night, and followed that up with a 3-for-4, two home run performance in Dayton's 8-7 win over Georgetown on Sunday.

UD returns to action on Friday, Mar. 3 with a 1 p.m. game against UMass Lowell at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The Flyers also play William & Mary and Maryland as part of the USA Baseball Irish Classic, hosted by Notre Dame.
