Women's Soccer Hosts Ohio Friday; At Xavier Sunday

The Flyers Close Out the Non-Conference Schedule This Weekend

• The University of Dayton women's soccer team (3-4-0, 0-0-0 A-10) closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule this weekend. The Flyers host Ohio (3-4-1) this Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field. This match will be streamed for free on the Atlantic 10 Network with Michael Purves on the call. 
• UD then faces off against Xavier (4-3-1) at XU Soccer Complex on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. to wrap up the non-conference schedule.

• Giveaways include thunder sticks and posters. The Flyers will be signing autographs following the match.

THE SERIES
• Dayton leads the all-time series vs. Ohio, 6-1-0. UD's lone loss to Ohio came last year, Aug. 21, 2016 in Athens, Ohio. Alexis Kiehl scored the lone goal in the 2-1 loss to the Bobcats. The Flyers are 4-0 vs. Ohio when playing at Baujan Field. 
• Dayton has sqaured off with Xavier more than any other in its women's soccer history. The Flyers lead the all-time series 25-9-3.  Last year, Xavier snapped a 14-match winning streak by Dayton in the series. XU won that match 3-1 at Baujan Field on Sept. 2, 2016. Madeleine Morrissey scored UD's only goal of that match. 

SCOUTING OHIO
• The Bobcats have been selected to finish fourth in the MidAmerican Conference's East Division this year. Ohio is 3-4-0 this season, including 0-3-0 in road matches.
• The Bobcats are currently on a three-match losing streak, after starting the season 3-1-0. 
• Ohio and Dayton share one common opponent so far this season: Marshall. The Bobcats fell 1-0, while Dayton won 3-0 over the Thundering Herd. 
• Ohio is most recently coming off a 3-0 home loss vs. Kentucky. Ohio fell 2-1 in double overtime to Xavier, Dayton's next opponent. 
• Senior Allie Curry leads Ohio, scoring two goals of the Bobcats' five total goals this season. 
• Sophomores Alivia Milesky and Sydney Leckie each have two assists to lead OU in that category. 
• Freshman Sydney Malham (5 games played/270 minutes) and junior Erin Beurket (6 games played / 374:05 minutes) split time in goal for the Bobcats. Malham has a .67 GAA and Beurket's is 1.20. 

SCOUTING XAVIER
• Xavier is 4-3-1 overall, including 4-1-1 at XU Soccer Complex.  The losses have come against Eastern Kentucky (1-0), No. 12 Duke (3-1) and Atlantic 10 member Duquesne (3-1).
• The Musketeers are coming off a 2-1 win over Northern Kentucky on Sept. 10. 
• Samantha Dewey and Sydney Schembri have each scored three goals this season.
• Dewey was named to the 2017 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. The junior forward is the first Musketeer to earn preseason conference honors since Xavier joined the BIG EAST in 2013.
• The Musketeers were picked to finish ninth (of 10 teams) in the BIG EAST preseason poll.

FLYER QUICK HITS
• Six different Flyers have scored so far this season: Alexis Kiehl (3 goals), Sidney LeRoy, Micayla Livingston (3 goals), Caroline Mink, Madeleine Morrissey and Sara Robertson (2 goals). 
Kaelyn Johns has started every game in goal and has 32 saves and two shutouts.
• Dayton returns nine starters and 71.4 percent of its scoring from a year ago, led by Alexis Kiehl's 21 goals.
• Head coach Eric Golz is in his first season at the helm of the Flyers. He previously served as an assistant at UD in 2011.

• Dayton opens Atlantic 10 action at VCU on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. ET.
