Women's Soccer Closes Out Final Week Of A-10 Play

The Flyers Are On The Road At Richmond Thursday And Home Vs. UMass Sunday

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (7-7-2 overall, 3-4-1 Atlantic 10) takes on the Richmond Spiders (1-14-1, 1-6-1 A-10) on the road this Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and then hosts Massachusetts (10-4-1, 5-2-1 A-10) Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. at Baujan Field. UD's seven seniors will be honored prior to the match vs. UMass Sunday. 
 •  The matches will be broadcast on ESPN+. Alex Mikos will have the call on the UMass match. 

HOME MATCH PROMOTIONS
• Seniors Kaelyn Johns, Dani Ruffolo, Nadia Pestell, Keagin Collie, Quincy Kellett, Beth Kamphaus, and Sara Robertson will be honored prior to the match. The ceremony will start at approximately 12:48 p.m.
• T-shirts to the first 100 students at the match. 
• Vuvuzelas to the first 25 fans.
• Thunder sticks for everyone. 

THE SERIES vs. RICHMOND
• Dayton is 11-3-1 all-time vs. Richmond. 
• The Flyers have a four-match winning streak against the Spiders going back to 2012. 
• Last year Dayton won 5-1 over Richmond at Baujan Field on Oct. 19, 2017. Keagin Collie, Micayla Livingston, and Caroline Mink each scored in that match for the Flyers.
• UD is 4-2-0 when playing the Spiders in Richmond.

THE SERIES vs. MASSACHUSETTS
• Dayton is 19-4-0 all-time vs. UMass.
• The Flyers defeated Massachusetts 3-1 on Oct. 22, 2017 on the road last year. Keagin Collie and Micayla Livingston each scored in that UD victory. 
• UD is 7-1-0 all-time vs. UMass when playing at Baujan Field. The last time the Flyers lost to Massachusetts at home was Oct. 18, 1998.  

NEXT MATCHES
• The top eight teams advance to the A-10 Championship quarterfinals, with the top four seeds hosting. The winner of each quarterfinal will advance to the semifinals which will be held on Nov. 2. The final will be on Nov. 4. All three matches will be played at Baujan Field. The Flyers are currently in eighth place in the standings 

FLYER QUICK HITS
•   10 different Flyers have scored goals this season: led by junior Micayla Livingston with five, freshman Izzy Greene with two, and one each for seniors Keagin Collie, Quincy Kellett, and Nadia Pestell, juniors Caroline Mink and Jordan Pauley, sophomores Morgan Henderson and Kara Camarco, and freshman Hannah Osland.
•   10 different Flyers have assists this season led by senior Quincy Kellett's four. 
•    Senior goalkeeper Kaelyn Johns has started 77 matches in her career and has 340 career saves. Her 17.5 career shutouts are fourth all-time at UD. 
• UD has 11 freshmen on its roster this season. 
• Head coach Eric Golz is in his second season at the helm of the Flyers. He previously served as an assistant at UD in 2011. 

SCOUTING RICHMOND
• Richmond is 1-14-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the A-10. The Spiders' lone win came against St. Bonaventure, a 2-1 victory on Sept. 23. Richmond is 0-5-1 since. 
• Richmond is currently 11th in the A-10 standings. 
• Ashley Gross (2 goals), TJ Anderson (2 goals) and Brooke Beam (1 goal and 2 assists) pace the Spiders with four points each. 
• Jessica Stanfill and Emily Wigg have each spent time in goal for Richmond. Wigg leads the team with 67 saves.
• The Spiders have been outscored 44-9 this season. 

SCOUTING MASSACHUSETTS
 • UMass is 10-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the conference this year. They are currently sixth in the A-10 standings. 
• The Minutewomen women's soccer program will advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament for the first time since 2014. With 16 points entering the final week of the regular season, the Minutewomen received help as a La Salle loss secured one of eight spots for UMass. Even if the Explorers won both games left on the schedule, UMass would still have one more point thanks to an earlier tie at Fordham.
• As a team, UMass leads the A-10 in eight different statistical categories including scoring offense (2.27 goals/game) which also ranks 23rd nationally.
•  Peyton Ryan ranks second in the league in GAA (0.62), which is 34th nationally and leads the A-10 in save percentage (0.83). 
•  Erin Doster leads the A-10 in total assists, while Lauren Bonavita (18) is seventh in total points followed by Jenny Hipp who is eighth (17).

JOHNS ONE OF TOP IN THE NATION
•  UD senior goalkeeper Kaelyn Johns is ranked ninth in the nation in career saves (340) among current active goalkeepers.
•  Johns is ranked second in the nation in career minutes played (6,966).

FLYER RANKINGS
Dayton was ranked No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches' Week Four East Regional Poll. The Flyers had been ranked for four consecutive weeks, and as high as No. 6.

BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN 
• The Flyers are 227-71-22 all-time in games played on their home field, Baujan Field. In the last six years, Dayton is 71-19-7 at home. 

WEEK 9 RESULTS 
• The Flyers defeated La Salle 2-1 in overtime on an own goal on Oct. 11 at Baujan, but then fell 1-0 to George Washington on the road on Oct. 14.

WEEK 8 RESULTS 
• The Flyers dropped a 3-1 decision at home to A-10 leading Saint Louis, and then went on the road for a 2-1 victory at Davidson. Micayla Livingston and Jordan Pauley scored vs. the Wildcats. 

WEEK 7 RESULTS 
• After falling 4-0 to VCU at Baujan Field on Sept. 27, the Flyers bounced back with a 1-0 home win over Saint Joseph's on Sept. 30. Quincy Kellett scored her first collegiate goal, the game winner vs. the Hawks. 

WEEK 6 RESULTS 
• Dayton fell 2-1 at George Mason on Sept. 20. The Patriots scored the gamewinner on a PK. Senior Nadia Pestell scored the game-tying goal in the 38th minute. It marked the first goal of the defender's collegiate career.
• The Flyers tied Duquesne 0-0 after double overtime on Sept. 23. 

WEEK 5 RESULTS 
• Dayton suffered a 2-0 loss to visiting Xavier Sept. 13. One of the Musketeer goals was an own goal with three seconds left in the match. 

WEEK 4 RESULTS 
• The Flyers scored three unanswered goals to top Akron 3-2 at home on Sept. 7. Micayla Livingston had two goals, including the game-winner, and Izzy Greene scored the game-tying goal. 
• Dayton was down a player for 56 minutes, in a 0-0 double overtime tie Sept. 9 against visiting Florida Gulf Coast, a team previously undefeated and currently receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll. The match was moved to CJ High School's Roger Glass Stadium due to rain.

WEEK 3 RESULT
• The Flyers lost a tough match, 1-0, to No. 25 Butler on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Baujan Field. The lone goal was an own goal. 

WEEK 2 RESULTS 
• The Flyers lost a tough match to Louisville Thursday, Aug. 23, falling 1-0 on an own goal.
• Dayton had a 3-1 win over Eastern Michigan Sunday, Aug. 26. After being down 1-0 in the first half, the Flyers tallied three goals in a matter of 12 minutes: sophomore Kara Camarco in the 64th, and Micayla Livingston with two goals (74th and 76th minutes). Kaelyn Johns had seven saves in the win. 

WEEK 1 RESULTS - FLYERS WIN JMU INVITATIONAL
• The Dayton women's soccer team was the only team to go 2-0-0 at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott JMU Invitational (Aug. 16 &19). 
• Two freshmen scored in Dayton's 2-1 come-from-behind win over the host James Madison Thursday, Aug. 16. Hannah Osland scored UD's first goal of 2018 in the 80th minute and Izzy Greene had the game-winner in the 89th minute. It was her first-ever collegiate shot, resulting in her first goal.
• Freshmen Grace Rickett and Hannah Osland, and sophomore Morgan Henderson earned their first collegiate starts in the match vs. JMU. 
• The Flyers defeated William & Mary 2-1 in overtime on Sunday, Aug. 19. Senior Keagin Collie scored in the 79th minute, but the Tribe tied it shortly after. Sophomore Morgan Henderson scored the golden goal in the 96th minute on an assist from Sara Robertson. It marked Henderson's first collegiate goal. 

HOME SWEET HOME
• Dayton has 10 home matches on its home Baujan Field this season. 
• Baujan Field will be the site of the 2018 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship semifinals and final. 

FLYERS PICKED 7TH IN A-10 POLL
• The Dayton women's soccer team was selected  to finish seventh in the 2018 Atlantic 10 standings in a vote by the league's 14 head coaches. 

GREENE EARNS A-10 HONOR
•  Izzy Greene was named the first Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the 2018 season based on her performance at the JMU Invitational.
